the art of syrup
It’s no secret that we enjoy curating cocktail recipes. And a foundation for that is making simple syrups. Regular simple syrup holds to its name and is extremely… simple. It is a 1:1 ratio of water and sugar. You boil the water and whisk in the sugar until it dissolves. Voila, simple syrup.
Using that formula as a basis you can create a medley of different flavors. Almost everything can be made into a simple syrup, ranging from bacon to blackberry or chai to rose. Making flavor combination syrups increases the potential for unlimited options. You can also use brown sugar instead of white to completely switch things up. A brown sugar, navel orange syrup is a completely distinct flavor profile as compared to a white sugar, blood orange syrup. The sky is truly the limit when you start combining your ingredients!
Trust us, when it comes to syrups it’s definitely cheaper and almost as easy to make them yourselves. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t be doing it! 😜
